DENVER (Denver Business Journal) – U.S. Department of Commerce officials say they have started the site-selection process for a new patent office in Denver, and will begin hiring board judges and patent examiners in the next few months.

Rebecca Blank, acting U.S. commerce secretary, and David Kappos, director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, traveled to the University of Colorado Denver’s Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora on Thursday to discuss what the satellite patent office will mean to Colorado, as well as the U.S. patent system overall.
