LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) – Four people who fell at least 10 feet when a deck they were standing on collapsed are recovering from their injuries.
The emergency was reported at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday at a home on the 7600 block of West Ottawa Place. The homeowners were hosting an annual holiday party.
A Jefferson County County building inspector said the deck was improperly nailed to the side of the home and not bolted in place.
The four people who were hurt had broken bones and bruises.
“It’s a miracle nobody was seriously hurt,” said neighbor Barb Barron Donatell. “Everyone is really banged up, there are some broken bones — like ribs and things like that.”
