WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) – The High Park Fire has forced changes to the route for this year’s Bike MS, including the cancellation of the century route option.
The changes will keep riders away from Horsetooth Reservoir and Masonville. Those areas have been impacted by the wildfire.
The Bike MS will start and finish in Westminster at Front Range Community College with an overnight at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Instead of going into the foothills, the route will take riders along the Front Range, away from the areas impacted by the fire.
Organizers are also changing the times for riders to leave. The window to head out Saturday in Westminster between 6 a.m. until 8 a.m.
On Sunday the departure time is from 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.
Bike MS is also adding additional shuttles to help cyclists if needed.
