Body Found Where Missing CU Student May Have Been Hiking

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Search crews made a sad discovery Friday night. They were looking for a University of Colorado student missing in Boulder and found a body.

A friend says Nicholas Valore, 19, missed class all week. Family members say they haven't heard from him since Sunday.

Valore's car was found near the National Center for Atmospheric Research trailhead on Thursday. Crews searching the foothills found a body in the same area where it's believed he went hiking.

"We've got a crew en route to the body, it's about a mile and a half in and they're going to do a little investigation up there and then evacuate the body," Sgt. Jason Oehlkers with the Boulder County Sheriff's Dept said.

Those who know Valore say he was known to hike in that area and climb around on boulders.
