The U.S. Department of Transportation announced today Colorado will be among 34 states getting federal money as part of a new grant.
$500 million dollars will be divided among 47 transportation projects in 34 states and the District of Columbia.
Colorado’s portion is 15 million dollars which will go as part of a project to ease back-ups on I-25 from 120th to the Boulder Turnpike.
The Colorado Department of Transportation would use the funds to create a managed toll lane either direction through that stretch.
Right now what is a 10 minute drive on a typical day can get as bad as 30 minutes. They hope this will change all of that
