Denver Water Closes Roads To Make Repairs

Written by Traffic Specialist Joel Hillan

Denver Water has issued a couple traffic advisories for work they are doing around town.

The first is on 17th Street from Milwaukee Street to Steele Street where crews are going to install 700 feet of 8-inch diameter water main to replace a pipe installed in 1919.

The work will be done one block at a time and one eastbound lane will stay open through the project.  The work will be done Mondays through Fridays from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Denver Water assures that service to homes and business in the area should not be affected with the exception of one building at the beginning and end of the project--whom they will contact.

This project is expected to go on until mid-July.

The other advisory is for night work which will close one lane of southbound Santa Fe Drive north of Mineral.

They will be repairing a pressure regulating valve.  They start the work tonight at 7pm and expect to be done by 5am Friday.

Denver Water says this is part of a preventative maintenance project  to monitor and maintain the nearly 500 pressure regulating valves in Denver Water's distribution system.
