DENVER (CBS4) – It’s a big baby celebration at the Denver Zoo as it welcomes the birth of a critically endangered species.
The zoo shared new video Tuesday of Makar, an Amur leopard cub.
Makar was born April 25, marking the first birth of this species at the zoo in 16 years.
The cub received a clean bill of health from zoo veterinarians, and you can now visit him at the feline building.
Leopards once roamed the a region between the China-Russia border, It is believed that there are fewer than 40 of the animals in the wild now.
