GALLERIES: COLORADO'S WORST WILDFIRES

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) – The High Park Fire burning in Larimer County has now affected two different youth camps.

When new evacuations were ordered in the Glacier View subdivision on Thursday the Ben Delatour Boy Scout Camp was included. The managers of the camp, run by the Longs Peak Council, said they will be closed to all activities through the end of next week. They said they will notify everyone by next Wednesday about whether activities will resume the week of June 24 through June 30.

Camp leaders said the fire is now 5 to 10 miles southeast of the Ben Delatour Scout Ranch.

Camp attendees who are not from the Colorado area will be temporarily staying at Harmony Presbyterian Church in Fort Collins.

Buckhorn camp also called off all of their youth camps this summer. The camp, operated by Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Methodist Church, is on Old Camp Road in the burn area. So far it’s unknown if any of the buildings on the 320 acre facility have burned.

“We will be working with our other camps to offer a summer camping experience to any of our campers who would like to attend another site,” organizers wrote on their website.
