DENVER (CBS4) – A man accused of threatening people in a passing vehicle and then assaulting a passenger has formally been charged by the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
Salavador Negrette Jr., 19, has been charged with four counts of felony menacing, kidnapping, and third-degree assault.
According to the district attorney’s office, the victims were in a car driving near East 1st Avenue and North Crown Boulevard when Negrette pulled up next to them and allegedly brandished a black handgun.
“The victims sped away but then crashed into a parked car. The charges further allege that after the crash Negrette pulled a female victim out of the car and assaulted her,” Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney’s office said in a statement.
Negrette remains in custody in the Denver Detention Center. His bond is set at $50,000. His next scheduled court appearance is on Friday.
