DURANGO, Colo. (AP) – Authorities have released the names of three relatives whose bodies were found on the same day in southwestern Colorado.
La Plata County Sheriff’s deputies investigating a report of suspicious circumstances Friday at a home near the New Mexico border on Colorado Highway 140 found the body of 69-year-old William Klatt Decker hanging in a barn in what initially appeared to be a suicide.
While checking the rest of the property, they found a foot protruding from freshly dug dirt near a riverbank and recovered another man’s body. That man was identified as 40-year-old Robert Decker, William Decker’s nephew.
Using information found at the home, sheriff’s officials asked police to check on a woman at a Durango home. Officers found the body of 67-year-old Billie Decker, who is William Decker’s sister and Robert Decker’s mother.
No other details were released.
