BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Longmont have arrested a woman they believe was trying to pass counterfeit bills.

Katrina Obee was arrested at America’s Best Value Inn in Boulder May 31. She is suspected of trying to pass counterfeit $10 and $20 bills at restaurants in Longmont.

Obee had allegedly scanned in the bills on her all-in-one printer at home and was printing out double-sided copies on the printer.

A search warrant was executed at her home and police said they removed printouts of the bills.

Obee allegedly has passed the bills at a Subway, McDonald’s and Dairy Queen in Longmont in late April and May.

Police are also investigating the possibility that she passed the counterfeit bills at other restaurants in Boulder.

Police believe Obee was hiding out in a hotel to avoid arrest. Detectives said when she saw officers watching her, she allegedly dyed her hair black. Obee wasn’t able to get away with the disguise and still had black dye on her neck from the attempt.
