GOLDEN, Colo.(CBS4) – A man drowned in Clear Creek Canyon on Sunday night.
Police say the man, who hasn’t been identified, may have fallen into the river after a car crash.
The man was driving east on Highway 6, west of Golden, when he crashed into a concrete barrier. Police say the man got out of the car and jumped the railing toward the canyon.
He likely fell into the water and drowned.
The accident is under investigation, but police suspect alcohol was involved.
Highway 6 was closed for several hours while emergency crews recovered the body.
