Plane Touched Down, Went Airborne Before Crash
FORT MORGAN, Colo. (AP) -- Witnesses say a plane that crashed near the Fort Morgan airport touched down and then went airborne again before crashing several hundred yards away from the grass runway.
The Monday crash killed the pilot, 65-year-old Richard Tackabury, and seriously injured his 42-year-old daughter, Laura Jean Tackabury, the only passenger.
The witness accounts were cited in a National Transportation Safety Board preliminary report dated Wednesday. The report did not establish the cause of the crash.
The plane was a home-built, twin-engine experimental Air-Cam.
