Bold Scammers Didn't Care They Were Calling CBS4
DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies Division of Insurance has put out a warning to consumers because of an apparent scam.
A caller claims to be from the Colorado Insurance Commission, which doesn't exist. He says the state has taken over the customer's insurance company and wants to direct deposit a refund to them and asks for their bank account information.
The real Division of Insurance says it never asks for banking information.
The scammers are so bold they actually called CBS4 looking for a staff member and they still tried to get account information even though they were told they were talking to a TV station.
