Suncor Energy Spill Could Take Years To Clean Up

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado health officials say it could take years for Suncor Energy to clean up a toxic spill from its refinery in Commerce City.

Suncor has been working since November to control an underground pipe line that's been leaking benzene into Sand Creek and the South Platte River.

Health officials think it will take several years to fully clean up the contamination because it is in a difficult environmental area.
