Police Believe Driver, Passenger Switched Places Before High-Speed Chase

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4) – A police chase ended with a car crash Sunday afternoon and one suspect remains on the run.

Police think a man driving the car switched places with a female passenger who began driving and they sped away from police.

The crash happened at Highway 7 and Highway 85 in Brighton. The woman inside the car was arrested but the man fled and is still on the run. Colorado State Patrol troopers searched the area for hours but were unable to locate the suspect.

The man is believed to be wanted in Gilpin County for criminal mischief.

The suspect’s vehicle reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
