Sandy Dahl, Widow Of 9/11 Pilot Dies
DENVER (CBS4/AP) — The widow of the captain of a United Airlines flight that crashed into a Pennsylvania field after being taken over by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001, has died.
Jefferson County coroner’s officials confirmed the death of Sandy Dahl, 52, whose body was found Friday.
Officials confirmed on Saturday she died of natural causes.
Dahl’s husband, Jason Dahl, was the captain on United Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001.
She helped create a scholarship in her husband’s honor dedicated to making sure young pilots get their education. She also did a lot of public speaking encouraging people to choose love over hate.
The scholarship organization said “her guiding light will be missed. The thoughts and prayers of the Dahl Fund go out to Sandy’s friends and family.”
