Weekend Features Multiple Memorial Day Ceremonies In & Around Denver
There are multiple events taking place in and around Denver this weekend where tributes to fallen American troops — as well as to veterans and to military families — will take place.
The Aurora Veterans Affairs Commission is hosting a Memorial Day Commemoration at 11:30 a.m. on Monday on the east side of the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway, near the flag poles (Chambers Road side).
Memorial Day tribute takes place in Folsom Field after citizen’s race portion of the Bolder Boulder 10K is complete — 11:40 a.m. MORE INFO
Honor Colorado’s military veterans and relive their memories during Commerce City’s Memorial Day parade Monday morning. Billed as the largest parade in the state and one of the largest in the country, the 130 entries stretch approximately 4 miles. MORE INFO
A Memorial Day program will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery on 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. MORE INFO
The Memorial Day Remembrance Parade, Wreath Remembrance Ceremony and Tribute Ceremony will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in Downtown Denver near Civic Center Park. MORE INFO
The Marine Corps Memorial Association will be conducting a ceremony at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Marine Corps Memorial site located at the intersection of Highways 6 & 40
“A Living History” Memorial Day event during the day Monday at the Colorado Veterans Plaza in Spring Canyon Park, 2626 West Horsetooth Rd, features veterans and a Blackhawk helicopter fly in.
There will be Memorial Day ceremonies at 10:30 a.m. at Grandview cemetery on 1900 West Mountain Ave. and at 1:30 p.m. at Roselawn cemetery at 2718 E. Mulberry St.
A ceremony is planned at the Veteran’s Circle in Littleton Cemetery, 6155 S. Prince Street at 8 a.m. A second, identical ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the Littleton World War II Memorial in Ketring Park, 6000 S. Gallup Street. MORE INFO
