Missing Patient From Mental Health Institute In Pueblo Found
PUEBLO, Colo. (CBS4) - A missing patient from the state's Mental Health Institute at Pueblo has been found.
Hospital officials say Ronald Braa, 50, signed out of the hospital for the day on Thursday but never came back. He was found at a 17-hour manhunt.
A member of the search team, an officer with the Colorado Mental Health Institute, spotting Braa in the 1600 block of Jet Wing in Colorado Springs early Friday afternoon.
Details of how Braa was apprehended are unconfirmed but Colorado Springs police said it appeared as though he was trying to turn himself over to authorities.
The institute said without his medication, Braa could become a threat to public safety.
Braa was committed to the hospital after being found not guilty of attempted first degree murder by reason of insanity for attacking a police officer in Douglas County in 2007.
