Plea Deal In Works For Basalt High School Teacher Accused Of Sex Assault
BASALT, Colo. (CBS4) - A former high school teacher accused of sexual assault could have the charges dropped.
Attorneys for Lauren Redfern say a plea deal is pending. She was arrested in February, accused of having a sexual relationship with a student at Basalt High School.
As part of the deal Redfern will plead guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and would not face prison time.
The Eagle County district attorney said Redfern's name will not be added to the sex offender registry.
The plea agreement still has to be approved by the judge.
