No Charges For Student Accused Of Stealing ACT Tests
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (CBS4) - The Cherry Creek High School junior accused of stealing ACT and Advanced Placement tests will not be criminally charged, but CBS4 has learned he also won't be returning to the school.
In April a student broke into a secure room at Cherry Creek and stole several tests. Surveillance video helped police track him down.
Greenwood Village police say they had to decide whether to preserve the integrity of the tests or pursue criminal charges. They chose to make a deal to get the tests back before the student could pass them out.
A spokeswoman for the school says it would have cost $750,000 to replace the tests.
The junior will not be returning to Cherry Creek for his senior year.
