Climber Rescued After Getting Stranded In Poudre Canyon

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Rescue crews helped a climber stranded nearly 50 feet up in Poudre Canyon Tuesday afternoon.

Shane Burke of Fort Collins crawled up the canyon off Highway 14, but getting down was the problem.

Larimer County Search and Rescue arrived to help.

"Well I got up and couldn't go up any further and I was tired and (couldn't) go down," Burke said. "So I called them and said, 'You guys, you've got to help me, I don't what I'm going to do.' So I just held there."

Burke didn't have a helmet or any safety equipment, something rescuers say is never a good idea.
