DENVER (CBS4)– The Denver Botanic Gardens plant sale is under way just in time for Mother’s Day weekend.
The sale features plants that are specifically tailored to the Colorado climate.
Of the plants for sale, 85,000 of them are grown in Colorado. There are also other varieties available.
“We’ve got plants from all around the globe that we’re offering at this year’s plant sale. We’re hoping people will come here for that reason because we’ve got plants here that you can’t get at your big box store. These are plants that you can only get here,” said Denver Botanic Gardens spokesman Will Jones.
You’ll also find expert advice on all kinds of plants from the Botanic Gardens staff and volunteers as well as industry experts.
Prices on plants range from a few dollars up to $60 for some of the more elaborate hanging baskets.
The sale continues until 6 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. through 5 p.m. Saturday.
