Pit Bull Attack Victim Was Worried About Neighbor Girl

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - A Longmont man attacked by a pit bull Friday says he worries other people could be attacked if the animal is not put down.

Frank Godines went to knock on his neighbor's door to let them know their handicap daughter was outside. That's when the pit bull broke through a storm door and attacked.

Godines went home from the hospital on Tuesday. He suffered the worst injury on his ankle and has a severed tendon.

Godines says he's relieved the young girl wasn't attacked.

"If he would have gotten a hold of that little girl; she's just a very thin, rail-like little girl, he probably would have broken the hand and ripped of the leg -- easily," Godines said.

Godines believes the dog was visiting the neighbor's when the attack happened.

Police took the dog to the Longmont Human Society.
