City Cracking Down On Illegal Towing From Lodo Lots
DENVER (CBS4)- The City of Denver wants people heading to downtown Denver this weekend to park their cars with confidence that it will not be illegally towed away.
The city said it has put an end to illegal towing operations. One lot manager is facing $18,000 in fines.
The cars were illegally towed from "Stop and Park" lots near Coors Field. One is located off Blake and another off Lawrence. Stop and Park also operates two other lots in Capitol Hill.
The city doesn't know how many cars were towed illegally after they paid to park.
"It sounds like it was happening quite regularly around Rockies games downtown, around Coors Field," said Denver Excise and License spokesman Tom Downey.
