Dry Cleaning Employee, Witness Chase, Catch Robbery Suspect

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- An employee at a dry cleaning business and a witness called police after they chased down and caught a robbery suspect Wednesday afternoon.

Arapahoe County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Mayfair Dry Cleaners at 5270 East Arapahoe Road to investigate an armed robbery involving a knife at about 12:47 p.m. Wednesday.

The manager told deputies that she was working behind the counter when a woman entered the cleaners and came behind the counter.

The woman displayed a knife and demanded money. During the encounter the employee and suspect struggled which caused the dry cleaning manager to get cut by the knife.

The woman then ran away from the business with the manager's purse and was seen running east. That's when a female employee and a woman who was a witness followed the suspect and confronted her in the 6700 block of South Glencoe Street.

After a brief struggle the suspect was detained by the witness and employee until deputies arrived.

The robbery suspect has been identified as Rachel Saitta, 27, of Centennial.

She is being held in the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond pending the filing of criminal charges.

Saitta will be charged with aggravated robbery, second degree assault and third degree assault.
