Denver Water Conservation Rules Go Into Effect

DENVER (CBS4) - Rules for Denver Water customers went into effect on Tuesday and the utility hopes after the dry winter, residents will be even more conservative.

Denver Water declared a Stage 1 drought last week, prompting a request to water lawns just two days a week and only on the dry areas.

While those are requests, there are mandatory rules as well. Customers cannot water more than three days a week or between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. They can't water during the rain or high winds, and don't waste water by letting it spray on concrete and asphalt.
