WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) – A 10-year-old boy is recovering with stitches to his face after getting attacked by a pit bull.
Westminster police say the attack happened at the boy’s friend’s grandmother’s home in the 6200 block of West 92nd Place on Monday.
Officers say the two boys opened a door in the garage that leads into the backyard. The grandson pet the dog and it seemed friendly. When the other boy attempted to pet the dog it bit him on the face and stomach.
The grandmother got control of the dog and put it back in the yard.
The boy was taken to St. Anthony North Hospital for treatment.
The dog’s owner was cited for having a vicious animal and no dog license. Police say the dog is in quarantine for 10 days and could be returned.
