Denver Police Want Public's Help Locating Robbery Suspect

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police would like the public's help locating a suspect in a robbery that happened early Sunday morning.

Detective Raquel Lopez with Denver police said a woman was walking at 5th & Washington around 1 a.m. when a man appeared and demanded her handbag at gunpoint.

"The suspect then struck the victim on the head with his handgun," Lopez said in a statement. "As he fled eastbound on foot, he fired one gunshot."

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s. He's 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, has a thin build, dark complexion and thin moustache. He was wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt over a black-and-white checkered flannel shirt.
