History Colorado Center Officially Open To The Public

DENVER (CBS4) - The newest museum in Denver features some of Colorado's oldest stories. History Colorado Center opened to the public on Saturday.

The old Colorado History Museum was closed in 2010 to make way for the new $110 million museum. One Colorado native says her childhood home is the inspiration for an exhibit.

"If you watch the video you'll see a homestead, a little house that my father built, and I was born in it back in 1924," History Colorado Center visitor Alice Hart Johnson said.

Future plans for the History Center include a total of 40,000 feet of exhibition space, state of the art technological displays, a research center and archival storage for more than 15 million items.
