DENVER (CBS4) – Members of the group Earth, Wind and Fire took a tour of Denver Health Medical Center on Saturday. For the lead singer, it was a return to his roots.

Philip Bailey was born at Denver Health in 1951. He toured the nursery and signed autographs for the hospital staff. He also talked about the Denver Health Foundation Nightshine Gala.

“If it had not been for Denver Health, which was then Denver General, perhaps I wouldn’t have been here,” Bailey said. “I was severely premature. It’s just really great for us to be able to raise funds for those who don’t have health care.”

The Nightshine Gala was at the National Western Complex. It was hosted by CBS4 weather forecaster Lauren Whitney.
