Fort Carson Welcoming Back About 200 Soldiers
FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) -- Fort Carson is holding a welcome home ceremony for about 200 soldiers who have spent the past year in Afghanistan.
The homecoming on Thursday is the second one this year for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. About 70 returned home earlier in April. The soldiers spent the year conducting humanitarian aid projects and training the Afghan National Army and the Afghan Uniformed Police.
The rest of the brigade is scheduled to return over the next several weeks.
