Waterton Canyon Open Once Again For Recreational Use
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - After being closed a second time, Denver Water reopened Waterton Canyon to recreation on Monday.
The canyon had been shut down for 1 1/2 years because of a massive dredging project at Strontia Springs Reservoir.
It reopened briefly last month but then it was closed again a few weeks ago to remove the dredging equipment.
The project was needed to remove silt and debris washed into the reservoir from the Hayman and Buffalo Creek wildfires.
