2nd Suspect Arrested In Car Shooting
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora have arrested a second suspect in connection with a shooting Tuesday night.
Police arrested Awath Hammad at about 7 p.m. Wednesday as he was entered an apartment in the 900 block of S. Dearborn Way.
Hammad, 20, is being held on charges of attempted second degree homicide and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
Police believe Hammad joined Malcolm Henderson in opening fire on a vehicle at about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of South Paris Way.
Henderson, 19, was arrested and is being held on charges of possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
Two people, a man and a boy, were hurt by glass shards in the shooting. They were in separate cars.
Detectives said the shooters, Hammad and Henderson, knew the man who was injured. The shooting appears to be part of an ongoing dispute from the previous day.
Officers do not believe the boy or the other parties in the second car knew the suspects or the other man who was injured.
The Gang Intervention Unit assisted Aurora police with the investigation.
