Friends, Family Gather To Remember Woman Killed In Lower North Fork Fire
LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - Family and friends gathered Saturday to say goodbye to a woman who died in last month's Lower North Fork wildfire.
Ann Appel was remembered at a memorial service at West Bowles Community Church in Littleton. Rev. Duane Cory says she was beautiful inside and out, honest and loving and always had a smile.
In a video Appel's husband and two sons talked about the woman they will never forget.
"Ann and I talked a number of times that day on the phone. She told me how proud she was of both them; and we talked about how blessed we were to have two sons like we do," her husband Scott Appel said.
Appel called 911 to report the wildfire but never got a reverse 911 call. An independent investigation of the fire is now under way.
