Mystery Surrounds Dead Pigs Found In Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Deputies in Adams County are trying to figure out how more than a dozen animals died.

A cyclist spotted a pile of baby pigs and baby calves in a ditch off 88th and Imboden Road located east of Denver International Airport. She found the animals 10 days ago and their corpses remain there.

She is working to figure out how the animals died.

"It just didn't seem right, just seemed really wrong to see the number of pigs lying there," said Jodee Brekke.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office investigated the scene Wednesday afternoon. The Tri-County Health Department was also there.

They believe it looks like the animals died somewhere else and were dumped in the ditch.
