DENVER (AP) – The Colorado Rockies have claimed right-handed pitcher Adam Ottavino off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Rockies optioned the 26-year-old former first-round draft pick to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Ottavino has an 0-2 record with an 8.46 ERA in five career major league games for St. Louis, all in 2010. His minor league record is 38-43 with a 4.29 ERA in 127 career appearances, including 126 starts.
