Boulder Scraps $225,000 Bear-Resistant Trash Cans Plan
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Boulder says it is scrapping plans to put bear-resistant trash cans in neighborhoods near the foothills.
Bears encroaching on cities have been a major problem. According to the Boulder Daily Camera, the city says the $225,000 bear resistant containers would be too expensive.
Instead the city plans to spend $10,000 on educational campaigns asking residents to take a bear pledge to secure their trash properly.
