Suspicious Device Found At Southwest Plaza Mall

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Police said a suspicious device has been found at the Sears located at Southwest Plaza Mall on Saturday.

Mark Techmeyer with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said a backpack was left at security desk by a male who wanted to shop without it. Security couldn’t find him on cameras after a long time and called it in as suspicious.

The store was forced to evacuate.

No other details have been released.

The suspicious device was actually an ‘interest meter’. It measured how much the average consumer was interested in shopping at Southwest Plaza. When no interest was found it was decided to leave the device behind. End of mystery.
