Colorado Symphony Wants Sponsors For Veterans At Annual Ball

DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Symphony has launched an initiative to host military veterans and their guests at The Symphony Ball 2012.

Sandy Lasky with the Symphony said they are encouraging patrons and corporate sponsors to purchase tickets and tables to host the veterans.

The Symphony Ball takes place on Saturday, April 28 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown hotel. Cocktails and a silent auction start at 6 p.m. with the dinner starting at 7 p.m.

During the dinner there will be a live auction, a concert and dancing. An after dinner party will be held at 10:45 p.m.

"Joined by the Colorado Board of Veterans Affairs, United Veterans Committee of Colorado and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1, the symphony is honored to provide the opportunity for military veterans to attend this incomparable evening of music, dining, and dancing as a small gesture of its gratitude for the sacrifices made by so many," Lasky said in a statement.

The Colorado Symphony will be announcing a new program offering military families special opportunities to attend orchestra performances during the new season.

"For the Colorado Symphony to align with veterans and their families who have sacrificed so very much in as many ways as we can, is the right thing to do," Colorado Symphony president and CEO, Gene Sobczak said. "The ball will be the kick-off event to launch many future initiatives that demonstrate the symphony's support of the men and women who serve our country."

Those who wish to purchase tickets and tables need to contact the Colorado Symphony's Director of Development, Obe Ariss at (303) 308-2474, oariss@coloradosymphony.org.

Sponsors will receive full recognition for their support.
