DENVER (CBS4) – A 19-year-old man from Kansas has died while skiing at Wolf Creek Ski Area on Saturday.
The man was skiing on a beginner run without a helmet when he hit a tree. He was declared dead at the scene. His death has been ruled an accident.
The man’s name hasn’t been released. He was the 17th official fatality on Colorado’s slopes this season.
The Denver Post reports that the 17 deaths equal the unofficial record set in 2008.
