Aurora Police Search For Gunman Who Shot & Killed Driver

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora are searching for the gunman who shot and killed a man sitting in the driver's seat of an SUV.

Officers rushed at about 12:55 p.m. Friday to the 1900 block of Dayton Street on a report of possible shots fired. When they arrived, officers found a dark-colored SUV sitting just south of E. Montview Boulevard. Inside was a man in the driver's seat.

That man was unresponsive and suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police continue to search for suspects and are interviewing witnesses.

The victim's identity has not been released.
