DENVER (CBS4) - Hundreds of new jobs will soon be coming to the Denver area because SCL Health System is relocating its headquarters to Colorado.

SCL, or Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, operates four hospitals in Colorado and seven more in three other states.

Gov. John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock welcomed the company's CEO Michael Slubowski on Wednesday.

Slubowski says moving to Denver will have a big impact on job growth in the metro area.

"Over the next few years we anticipate 750 new or relocated jobs coming to the region," Slubowski said. "This includes our major office location in Denver near Speer Boulevard and I-25."

SCL operates Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Good Samaritan in Lafayette and Saint Mary's in Grand Junction.
