DENVER (AP) – The Colorado State Patrol has its first female lieutenant colonel in its 76-year history.
Maj. Brenda Leffler was promoted to the rank Friday.
Leffler was a noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Army and National Guard between 1987 and 1997. She became a State Patrol trooper in Golden in 1993 and rose through the ranks.
