Experience the beauty of the mountains accompanied with great tunes and highflying extreme sports action at the Bud Light Spring Jam in Aspen and Snowmass. Here are the top activities, events and music that will be featured at Spring Jam.

Musical Entertainment

Core Party
Downtown Aspen

Date: Friday, March 16th at 8 p.m.

Start the festivities out right with a concert hosted by Aspen’s scenic downtown. The Core Party will get you in the spirit of the weekend’s events with music from “Railroad Earth.” They are a renowned bluegrass band who has released four studio albums and is a staple at music festivals such as the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and the Mile High Music Festival. Railroad Earth is not just an aural joy, but a sight to behold as well: the musicians play no fewer than thirteen instruments combined. This growingly popular band entertains with patriotic tunes of this great country, accompanied by instrumentals that give off a celtic or cajun feel. Grab a beer, kick back and enjoy yourself because the hills will definitely be ringing with music and fun.

Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series

Date: Sunday, March 18th at 3 p.m.

Two days later, head to Snowmass Base Village to celebrate the legend of Bob Marley and reggae at The Wailers concert. As you may know, Marley almost always sang his songs of love and peaceful rebellion with The Wailers in tow, and although he may be gone, his music remains in Aspen.

Skiing/Boarding Entertainment

The Bud Light Big Air Fridays
Snowmass Mountain

Price: Free for viewers, $20 registration ski for competitors.
Dates: Friday, March 16th & 23rd from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Jam’s skills competitions begin with craned necks from the audience and feats of insanity from the skiers and snowboarders. Big Air Fridays on March 16th and 23rd feature the best extreme athletes in the world displaying their newest tricks off of a 40-foot jump. This event also includes confident amateur riders who want to prove they have what it takes to compete with the stars. Expect to see the makings of a mountain legend and/or a crushing disaster.

KickAspen Big Air Invitational

Date: Saturday, March 17th at 8 p.m.

For a purely local big air competition, check out the KickAspen Big Air Invitational at Aspen Mountain on March 17th. This event is a must see because not only do you get to see these crazy ski/board enthusiasts catch some seriously big air, but you get to see it all under the lights. But make sure to wear some gloves because the Bud Light beer tent will be filling your cups throughout the night.

Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls

Price: Free for viewers, $90/team
Date: Sunday, March 25th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you’re a fan of donnybrooks, don’t miss the Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls on March 25th. Forty-six two man teams compete for the fastest time down every run on Aspen Mountain and fans can track their favorite duo with GPS. This high speed action is sure to be thrilling for spectators.

If you decide that two weekends of the Spring Jam fun isn’t quite enough, then come back a couple of weeks later to catch one last entertaining competition. You may have seen the traditional end to snow festivals, which is a skier or snowboarder riding down a hill and as far across a pond as he or she can. Red Bull doesn’t do normal. They took the concept and altered it so that teams of four compete to build a craft that will carry them across a seventy foot pond, thus birthing “The Schneetag”. .
