Lombardi: 'Manning Watch' Roller Coaster Ride Continues

Written by Vic LombardiDENVER (CBS4) - And to think, I hate roller coasters. They scare me to death. Don't even like riding the children's coaster at Lakeside. But what a roller coaster it's been the last seven days.

I don't know how this Peyton Manning thing is going to end. But I sure know where it started. Let's recap, shall we.

On Wednesday, March 7, long before anybody had any idea the Broncos were interested in Peyton Manning, I fired off the following series of tweets:

The very next morning, more information on a story that just started getting legs.

Then, on Friday, we find out Manning is paying a visit to Dove Valley, arriving in Pat Bowlen's jet.

Later that day, we learn of another breaking story that has Bronco fans buzzing.

And the next morning, Saturday March 10th, Broncos fans are wondering if Manning is still in town. Little did we know he spent the night at Brandon Stokley's house. He actually threw the football around with Brandon.

On Sunday, Manning spends over six hours in Arizona meeting with the Cardinals brass. Let the bidding begin.

Sunday night, the infamous 95 percent. I was told by the same reliable source that the Broncos were almost certain they'd land the biggest fish in free agency.

Then on Monday, the Miami Dolphins entered the derby, meeting with Manning in Miami.

And finally on Tuesday night, word is Tennessee Titans will open the vault for Manning. Two NFL sources tell me the price has suddenly gone up.

Now what? Well, we wait. I'm 95-percent sure we'll know something by the end of the week.
