Body Of Denver Soldier Arrives In Colorado

DENVER (CBS4) - A funeral is planned this week for a fallen soldier from Colorado.

Staff Sgt. Jordan L. Bear was killed by militants in Afghanistan earlier this month. He was killed in a firefight while trying to save another injured soldier.

Bear's body arrived at Buckley Air Force Base on Saturday. His wife, their young child and other family members saw his casket up close, draped in an American flag.

"he was an outstanding man. He was just a good man."

"he hears us. I talk to him everyday and he knows that i love him, everybody does and everybody misses him greatly and it's a tough thing."

As part of his Native American heritage, Bear's casket was taken to funeral home for a four day wake.
His funeral is set for Tuesday at All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Denver.
