24-Hour Training Exercise Under Way At Buckley AFB

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)– It’s going to be a busy and loud weekend at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora during a 24-hour training exercise.

Planes lined up in preparation for the exercise Friday morning. The 140th wing of the Colorado Air National Guard planned the Operation Readiness exercise.

The Air Force plans a major inspection in May and this weekend’s exercise will be the final dress rehearsal.

Planes could be taking off and landing between 6:45 a.m. Saturday through 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

As a Air Force Veteran, I have a question??? DID Copter 4 have FAA and Air Force Clearance to be in a RESTRICTED AIRSPACE above a ACTIVE Flightline of the US Air Force???????????

First, if not they would have been kindly escorted out of said airspace. Second, with the technology today the news helicopter could have safely been outside the airspace and taken fantastic pictures of the exercise. Third, I am certain 140th Public Affairs was involved in this story.
