Dress Your Teen For Less
DENVER (CBS4)– Teenagers can be a fickle bunch with their fashion trends changing with the wind. Their budget doesn’t always keep up with their wants.
Another new trend among stores catering to the young fashionistas- used clothing stores that offer cash or store credit on the spot. Those stores also offer a wide selection of the latest styles.
“We pay cash on the spot. We’re not consignment. You can bring your teens to twenty-something styles into the store,” said Plato’s Closet spokeswoman Donna Marie Gilner.
The philosophy behind another fashion concept, frugalformalwear.com, is to stay trendy without going broke.
“We’re going to sell it for $30. It’s a beautiful dress that’s only been worn once,” said frugalformalwear.com spokeswoman Kimberly Jones.
Designer dresses that cost hundreds of dollars in a retail store are marked down 75 percent or more. That makes a high school formal in the price range for most teens.
Plato’s Closet is located in the 1400 block of S. Colorado Blvd. in Denver.
Frugalformalwear.com is organizing a formal wear sale Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 5718 S. Rapp Street in Littleton.
