WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police would like the public's help locating a suspect accused of shoplifting and an assault on a security guard.

Sonny Jackson with Denver police said the suspect was stopped for shoplifting outside of a Target store in Westminster. He said the suspect fought with the security officer and ultimately head butted him, breaking the employee's nose.

"Target identifies that this suspect is the same from a shoplifting that occurred three months prior," Jackson said in a statement.

Different vehicles were used in both thefts.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-7, heavy set with short hair and glasses. The suspect vehicle is described as a black four-door Honda Civic. Partial plate may be 657-XXX. He was also seen in a black SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
